Finding the Help You Deserve
I work with teens, adults, and couples who feel anxious, ashamed, burned out, or stuck in unhelpful patterns. Many are navigating big transitions—immigration, school shifts, career changes, parenting, or separation/reconnection. I’m attuned to cross-cultural stress and identity questions; I frequently support Spanish-speaking clients and those with roots in Türkiye and the Middle East, offering culturally humble, faith and family aware care. Sessions are online across BC and Canada, or as in-person walk-and-talk therapy on Port Moody’s waterfront trails. También ofrezco sesiones en español. Common challenges include depression and overthinking, perfectionism and people-pleasing, shame, grief, low motivation, sleep/routine disruptions, and boundary struggles. Teens often feel overwhelmed by school and social pressure, big emotions without a map, identity exploration, and executive-function hurdles like procrastination and focus. Couples tend to face communication breakdowns and escalating cycles—criticism, defensiveness, withdrawal—plus trust injuries, extended-family or cultural expectations, parenting strain, or a slow drift into “roommates.” Somatic stress is common: tight chest, racing thoughts, stomach discomfort, chronic tension. We set clear, realistic goals. For individuals and teens: steadier nervous systems; practical CBT/DBT skills; kinder inner dialogue; reliable routines for sleep, focus, and energy; and boundaries that protect time and relationships. For cross-cultural clients: integrating identities so you don’t have to choose between parts of yourself. For couples (using a Gottman-informed approach): turning conflict into teamwork, growing fondness and admiration, gentle start-ups, effective repair, fair fighting, and shared rituals that sustain closeness. My style blends structured tools with IFS/parts work and somatic practices for gentle depth, so you leave each session with small, repeatable habits that create lasting change.
