Finding the Help You Deserve
During the decade I spent working as a social scientist, I heard stories of strength, resilience, and courage. I also heard stories of humiliation, abuse, and grief. Throughout, what I have found most compelling is the storytelling. If you are here and are considering reaching out, I cannot wait to hear your story. My own journey with therapy has led me here. For most of my life, I felt I was walking in the dark, often stumbling and getting hurt. When I began therapy, it felt like someone switched a light on, allowing me to finally see the obstacles I had been running into. My goal is to help each client to turn on their own light. My approach to therapy is adapted to each client's needs, though I often incorporate narrative work or story-telling, along with trauma-informed work. I also see my work as embedded within broader social justice and humanitarian issues. Life is difficult, but therapy can help us navigate problems with fewer bumps, bruises, and injuries to our mental health. My hope for my clients is that they might move through life with the confidence that they can get through anything. I am here for you, whether you are severely hurting, are recovering from past wounds, or want to prevent future injuries, and I would be honoured to support you. I expect you may have questions, so please feel free to reach out and contact me.
